Discover Hind Ennaira, a rising female talent in Gnawa music
At just 25 years old, Hind Ennaira is a young Gnawa artist whose talent rivals that of the great Maâlems. A rare female figure in the male-dominated world of Gnawa music, Hind is a self-taught musician and one of the few women to master the sacred guembri instrument.
Born in Essaouira, the birthplace of Gnawa art, she was immersed in this music from a young age. It was in this very city that she gave her first major performance at the Gnaoua and World Music Festival, on Moulay El Hassan Square.
Sharing the stage with Maâlem Mohamed Boumezzough and Yaya Ouattara, her powerful presence and guembri solo brought the audience to a state of musical ecstasy.
